Throughout my career as a personal stylist, I have also been a teacher.
Currently, I’m teaching for the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges in Maplewood. In my Fashion Lovers class, students design and sketch outfits in their own fashion journals and learn how designers find inspiration and use color, pattern and texture in their garments.
I am also an Art Specialist for the aftercare program for the YMCA. I design art projects that are fun and creative, inviting and open-ended. We are exploring together how the elements of art and principles of design (which I have literally applied to thousands of outfits for hundreds of clients) are used in crafts and art making.
I have also taught at IBM as a faculty member of the Network for Emerging Women leaders. I taught image and branding technique and helped women represent themselves visually and achieve the next level of leadership at IBM.
At FIT, I am a regular guest lecturer on color analysis for Celebrity Stylist Danielle Marshall in her class, Secrets of a Personal Shopper. I share my expertise as a certified color analyst and teach stylists how to quickly and correctly assess color in their client’s features and professionally choose clothing colors that highlight and express style and intention.
At Seton Hall University, I taught Freshman English and Writing classes while earning my Masters in English Literature. As a member of the Graduate Assistant Program, I taught core curriculum classes and independently designed my syllabi, wrote lectures, planned classes, met with students during office hours and graded work. I also graduated Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA.
